These popular bags are knit in easy short rows. Fun for adventurous beginners. Bag size depends on yarn size. Above, left to right: Large in recycled sari yarn on 5 mm needles, Medium in bulky green chenille on 4.5 mm needles, and Medium in cotton on 6 mm needles – the yarn size makes the difference! You can see a wooden 12" ruler at the lower left in the photo, to get an idea of sizes.

Medium size requires 220m in bulky chenille, Large requires 420m in recycled sari yarn (such as “Annapurna” or “Marrakesh”. Use needles 2 sizes smaller than normal for your yarn. Yardage given is estimated – your mileage may vary.
